The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting the implementation, configuration, customization, and development of the ServiceNow Application Portfolio Management (APM) module.

This is an onsite ServiceNow Developer contract opportunity in Houston, TX for a professional who can work closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, and other ServiceNow specialists to deliver scalable and effective ServiceNow solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure, and maintain solutions within the ServiceNow platform.
• Support the implementation and enhancement of the ServiceNow Application Portfolio Management (APM) module.
• Configure ServiceNow applications, modules, forms, tables, workflows, business rules, and related platform components.
• Work with CMDB to maintain accurate configuration and application-related data.
• Develop and maintain Service Catalog items, catalog workflows, and related service management solutions.
• Design and configure workflows to automate business and IT processes.
• Utilize Flow Designer to build and maintain automated workflows and process integrations.
• Configure and maintain Access Control Lists (ACLs) to ensure appropriate data and application security.
• Develop and consume REST APIs for integrations between ServiceNow and external systems.
• Work with ServiceNow Discovery to support infrastructure discovery and configuration data management.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable ServiceNow technical solutions.
• Develop scripts and platform customizations using ServiceNow development best practices.
• Troubleshoot application, workflow, integration, and configuration issues.
• Participate in testing, debugging, deployment, and production support activities.
• Collaborate with business analysts, administrators, developers, architects, and technical stakeholders.
• Perform code reviews and ensure solutions follow ServiceNow development and configuration standards.
• Support continuous improvement of existing ServiceNow applications and processes.
• Document configurations, technical solutions, integrations, and implementation procedures.

Required Technical Skills

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with the following ServiceNow technologies:

ServiceNow APM

• Strong experience with ServiceNow Application Portfolio Management (APM).
• Experience implementing, configuring, and supporting APM capabilities.
• Understanding of application portfolio data, application relationships, and portfolio management processes.
• Ability to work with stakeholders to improve application visibility and portfolio information.

ServiceNow CMDB

• Strong understanding of Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
• Experience working with configuration items, relationships, and CMDB data.
• Understanding of how CMDB integrates with other ServiceNow modules.

Service Catalog

• Experience creating and configuring Service Catalog items.
• Experience with catalog workflows and request fulfillment processes.
• Ability to customize catalog forms and related processes based on business requirements.

Workflow & Flow Designer

• Strong experience developing and maintaining ServiceNow workflows.
• Hands-on experience with Flow Designer.
• Ability to automate business and IT processes using ServiceNow workflow capabilities.
• Experience troubleshooting workflow and flow execution issues.

ACLs & Security

• Experience configuring Access Control Lists (ACLs).
• Strong understanding of ServiceNow security and role-based access.
• Ability to implement appropriate access controls while maintaining application functionality.

REST APIs & Integrations

• Hands-on experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
• Experience integrating ServiceNow with external applications and enterprise systems.
• Understanding of integration troubleshooting, authentication, and data exchange.
• Experience working with ServiceNow integration capabilities.

ServiceNow Discovery

• Experience with ServiceNow Discovery.
• Understanding of infrastructure discovery and configuration item identification.
• Ability to troubleshoot discovery-related issues and support accurate CMDB data.

ServiceNow Development & Administration

The selected candidate should have strong experience in both ServiceNow development and administration. Responsibilities may include platform configuration, scripting, customization, application development, workflow development, integrations, security configuration, testing, and production support.

Experience with ServiceNow scripting and development best practices is highly desirable, particularly when developing scalable solutions that minimize unnecessary customization and support long-term platform maintainability.

Required Experience

• 13+ years of IT experience, with significant hands-on ServiceNow experience.
• Strong experience as a ServiceNow Developer.
• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow APM.
• Strong knowledge of CMDB, Service Catalog, Workflows, Flow Designer, ACLs, REST APIs, and Discovery.
• Experience supporting enterprise ServiceNow implementations.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Houston, TX.

Work Arrangement

This position is onsite in Houston, Texas. Candidates must be able to work from the Houston location and collaborate directly with the project and technology teams.
