Senior Data Engineer – Workday Integration (Remote | Contract)
Senior Data Engineer We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer Jobs with strong expertise in Workday integrations to join our growing data and analytics team. This is a remote contract opportunity ideal for professionals with 7+ years of experience in building scalable data pipelines, integrating enterprise systems, and working with modern cloud platforms.
Senior Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust data integration solutions between Workday and various enterprise systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including HR, Finance, IT, and Analytics to deliver high-quality, reliable, and optimized data solutions that drive business insights and operational efficiency.
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Workday integrations using tools such as Workday Studio, EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder), and Core Connectors
- Build and manage ETL/ELT pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from Workday into enterprise data platforms
- Develop and support integrations across Workday HCM, Payroll, and Financials modules
- Implement and monitor APIs and Web Services (SOAP/REST) for seamless data exchange
- Design and optimize data workflows and ingestion frameworks for structured and unstructured data
- Build scalable and high-performance data pipelines using modern data engineering best practices
- Work with cloud platforms such as AWS (S3, Redshift, Glue), Azure (ADF, Synapse), or GCP
- Develop and maintain data models to support analytics, reporting, and business intelligence use cases
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and reliability across all data pipelines
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Support data warehousing, data lakes, and modern data architecture initiatives
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on data integration and architecture strategies
🔹 Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering and Workday Integration
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Workday Studio
- EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder)
- Core Connectors
- Workday Web Services (WWS)
- Proven experience with ETL/ELT tools such as Informatica, Talend, Azure Data Factory (ADF), or AWS Glue
- Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and/or Java
- Experience working with APIs (REST/SOAP), XML, XSLT, and JSON
- Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL concepts
- Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

🔹 Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with real-time data streaming tools such as Kafka Senior Data Engineer
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality frameworks
- Familiarity with Workday reporting (Advanced, Composite, Matrix reports)
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Prior experience integrating Workday with third-party systems such as HRIS, payroll providers, or financial tools
