Position Details

Job Title: MuleSoft Developer
Experience: 10+ Years
Location: Fully Remote
Travel Requirement: Maryland 1–2 times per year for a few days

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain enterprise integration solutions using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
  • Develop and manage APIs using MuleSoft and follow established API development and management standards.
  • Build scalable and reusable integration services connecting enterprise applications, systems, and data sources.
  • Participate in technical architecture and solution design discussions for large-scale integration projects.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into effective MuleSoft integration solutions.
  • Develop MuleSoft applications using appropriate integration patterns, reusable components, and development best practices.
  • Configure and manage APIs using MuleSoft API Management capabilities.
  • Support API lifecycle management, security, governance, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Design and implement integrations between internal systems, external applications, databases, and enterprise platforms.
  • Troubleshoot integration issues, API failures, performance problems, and production incidents.
  • Conduct technical analysis and recommend appropriate MuleSoft architecture and integration approaches.
  • Collaborate with solution architects, developers, business analysts, project managers, and other technical teams.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure development follows established MuleSoft coding and architecture standards.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, API documentation, integration specifications, and solution designs.
  • Support testing, deployment, production implementation, and post-production support activities.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve existing integration solutions, performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Work effectively within a distributed remote team supporting a long-term Federal project.

Required Skills and Qualifications

MuleSoft Anypoint Platform

  • Strong hands-on experience with the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
  • Extensive experience developing integration applications using MuleSoft.
  • Strong understanding of MuleSoft architecture, components, connectors, and integration patterns.
  • Experience designing reusable and scalable MuleSoft solutions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimize MuleSoft applications.

API Management

  • Strong experience with MuleSoft API Management.
  • Experience designing, developing, securing, deploying, and managing enterprise APIs.
  • Understanding of API lifecycle management and governance.
  • Experience implementing API security and access-control mechanisms.
  • Knowledge of API policies, monitoring, and performance management.

Enterprise Integration

  • Strong understanding of enterprise integration architecture.
  • Experience integrating multiple enterprise applications and systems.
  • Ability to design solutions for complex integration requirements.
  • Knowledge of integration patterns, data transformation, messaging, and API-based architectures.
  • Experience working with large-scale technology environments.

Solution Architecture & Technical Design

The ideal candidate should have experience beyond day-to-day development and be comfortable contributing to solution architecture and technical design activities.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Participating in architecture discussions.
  • Creating technical solution designs.
  • Evaluating integration approaches and technologies.
  • Translating functional requirements into technical architectures.
  • Identifying technical risks and recommending solutions.
  • Designing scalable, secure, and maintainable integration architectures.
  • Collaborating with enterprise and solution architects on project standards.

Federal / Government Experience

Federal or Government project experience is preferred.

Candidates with experience supporting large government technology programs, Federal agencies, public-sector organizations, or government contractors will be highly valued.

Experience working in environments with strict security, compliance, documentation, governance, and delivery requirements will be beneficial.

Large-Scale Project Experience

The selected candidate should have experience working on large-scale technology and integration projects involving multiple applications, systems, teams, and stakeholders.

You should be comfortable working in complex enterprise environments where integration reliability, scalability, security, and maintainability are critical.

MuleSoft Certification

MuleSoft certification is preferred.

Candidates who hold relevant MuleSoft certifications should include certification details on their resume, including the certification name and current status.

U.S. Residency Requirement

Candidates must have been residents of the United States for a minimum of 5 years.

Remote Work & Travel

This position is fully remote, allowing the selected candidate to work from their remote location.

However, the role requires occasional onsite presence in Maryland approximately 1–2 times per year for a few days. Travel expenses associated with required onsite visits will be paid.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a senior MuleSoft professional with 10+ years of experience who combines strong hands-on development capabilities with enterprise integration and technical architecture experience.

You should be able to work independently, collaborate effectively with distributed technical teams, and take ownership of complex integration requirements. Strong communication, analytical thinking, troubleshooting skills, and attention to technical detail are important for success in this position.

Experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, API Management, enterprise integration, solution architecture, and large-scale projects is essential.

Federal/Government project experience and MuleSoft certification will provide an additional advantage.
