Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Retail MFCS Testing Lead to join our team in Dallas, Texas. This is a contract opportunity for a skilled QA professional with strong expertise in Oracle Retail Merchandise Foundation Cloud Services (MFCS), retail domain testing, test leadership, and end-to-end business process validation.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience leading testing activities for Oracle Retail implementations and a strong understanding of retail business processes, functional and integration testing, regression testing, UAT, defect management, and test strategy development.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end testing activities for Oracle Retail MFCS implementations.
• Develop comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, and test cases.
• Coordinate functional, integration, system, regression, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
• Validate Oracle Retail MFCS functionality against business and technical requirements.
• Perform end-to-end testing of retail business processes, workflows, and data flows.
• Work closely with business analysts, developers, functional consultants, and business stakeholders throughout the testing lifecycle.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution.
• Perform root cause analysis for critical and recurring defects.
• Coordinate defect resolution activities with development and business teams.
• Review requirements and identify potential testing gaps, dependencies, and risks.
• Establish testing schedules and coordinate testing resources across multiple workstreams.
• Monitor testing progress and ensure testing milestones are completed on schedule.
• Prepare and communicate testing status reports to project stakeholders.
• Report defects, risks, testing progress, quality metrics, and overall test results.
• Support UAT teams and business users during validation activities.
• Ensure test coverage across critical retail business processes and Oracle Retail functionality.
• Participate in defect triage meetings and provide recommendations for prioritization and resolution.
• Support test execution, validation, retesting, and final sign-off activities.
• Maintain clear documentation of test results, defects, test evidence, and quality metrics.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Oracle Retail MFCS

• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Retail MFCS (Merchandise Foundation Cloud Services).
• Experience testing Oracle Retail implementations and enterprise retail applications.
• Understanding of MFCS functionality, business processes, integrations, and data flows.
• Ability to translate retail business requirements into effective testing scenarios.

Retail Domain Testing

The successful candidate should have strong knowledge of retail business processes and experience validating areas such as:

• Merchandise management
• Product and item data

Functional & Integration Testing

• Experience developing and executing functional test cases.

• Experience identifying integration defects and coordinating resolution with technical teams.

Test Planning & Strategy

• Develop detailed test strategies and test plans based on project requirements.
• Define testing scope, objectives, scenarios, resources, timelines, dependencies, and entry/exit criteria.
• Create comprehensive test cases covering business and technical requirements.
• Ensure adequate test coverage across functional and integration requirements.
• Identify testing risks and develop mitigation strategies.

System, Regression & UAT Testing

• Lead system testing, regression testing, and UAT activities.
• Coordinate test execution across functional and business teams.
• Validate that application changes do not negatively impact existing functionality.
• Support business users during UAT and help resolve testing questions.
• Coordinate retesting of defects following development fixes.
• Ensure successful completion of testing milestones and release readiness activities.

Defect Management & Root Cause Analysis

• Manage defects throughout the complete testing lifecycle.
• Document clear defect descriptions, severity, priority, reproduction steps, and supporting evidence.
• Coordinate with development and business teams to investigate and resolve defects.
• Conduct or support root cause analysis for complex defects.
• Participate in defect triage meetings.
• Track defect aging, resolution status, and outstanding quality risks.
• Ensure critical defects are appropriately communicated to project leadership.

Stakeholder Management

Strong communication skills are essential for this position.
