Network security engineer jobs Due to nature of the role, Candidates must be comfortable with extensive travel and working directly at OT sites such as manufacturing plants, utilities, and other critical infrastructure facilities
Key Responsibilities
- As a member of OT security team, the Network security Engineer will be responsible for the following activities Network security engineer jobs
- Travel to multiple Operational Technology (OT ) sites across the united states to perform hands on network security implementations
- Deploy, Configure, and manage cisco Firepower appliances in both transparent and routed modes to enable OT network segmentation, system isolation, and threat protection
- Identify unmanaged or insecure OT switches during sites assessments and replace them with Meraki switches, configuring them for proper VLAN – based logical segmentation
- Design, Configure, and troubleshoot OT traffic flows to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient communication between segmented networks while maintaining operational continuity
- Support rack and stack activities, working closely with client field services personnel during hardware installation and deployment
- Assist with wireless infrastructure upgrade, including the replacement or configuration of Access points (Aps) when required as part of site modernization to operations
- Validation network redundancy and failover capabilities, including SD -WAN failover using Velo cloud and Cisco Firepower solutions
- Create maintain detailed technical documentation, including network diagram, configuration details, site findings, and implementation reports
- Ensure all security Implementations comply with OT Cybersecurity standards, best practices, and safety requirements
Required Qualifications
- To be successful in this role, candidates must have Network security engineer jobs
- Strong hands on experience with:
- Cisco Firepower appliances ( Transparent and routed modes )
- Meraki switches and VLAN segmentation
- Velo cloud SD-WAN integration and failover validation
- Practical knowledge of IEC 62443 standards and NIST cybersecurity Frameworks, particularly as they apply to OT and industrial environment
- Proven experience working in operational technology environment, such as manufacturing, utilities, energy, or other critical infrastructure sectors
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively across the united states ( up to 90% )
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear technical documentation
- Ability to work Independently in the field as well as collaborative within a distributed team environment
Preferred Qualification
- The following qualifications are considered a strong advantage:
- Industry recognized certification such as:
- CISSP
- GICSP
- Cisco security certifications
- ISA/ IEC 62443 certifications
- Experience with wireless networking, including Access point (AP ) deployment and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with physical security controls and safety considerations within industrial or critical infrastructure environments
- Prior experience supporting large scale OT Security modernization or segmentation projects
Work Environment
This is a field based role requiring frequent travel to industrial and operational facilities across the US Engineers may works in environment that includes heavy machinery, electrical systems, and personal protective Equipment, Appropriate safety training and personal protective Equipment ( PPE ) will be provided to ensure a safe working environment
