Role: Technical Lead – Vehicle Dynamics & Controls (Embodied AI)
In the capacity of a Technical Lead within the Local Planner Controller collective of Embodied AI, you shall operate as a distinguished individual contributor tasked with the design, refinement, and execution of GM’s avant-garde Super Cruise and autonomous driving functionalities.

In this esteemed position, you will confront intricate real-time optimization conundrums, safeguard vehicular safety, augment ride comfort, and influence multi-quarter software trajectories that propel the forthcoming generation of self-driving paradigms.
Principal Responsibilities
Staff Robotics Engineer Dynamics and Controls Leadership & Technical Vision
* Elaborate and oversee the multi-quarter roadmap for software pertaining to vehicle dynamics and controls.
* Spearhead synergistic endeavors with the domains of perception, prediction, planning, and safety.
* Foster engineering preeminence through technical assessments, architectural design, and qualitative benchmarks.
Engineering & System Development
* Conceive system architectures and delineate interface agreements across autonomy subsystems.
* Forge robust algorithms for vehicle dynamics, estimation, and control.
* Prioritize safety, computational efficacy, and ride comfort throughout the developmental continuum.
* Contribute to initiatives within **Active Safety, ADAS, and Super Cruise** evolution.
Testing, Validation & Performance Optimization
* Formulate simulation and on-road validation methodologies.
* Design exhaustive testing protocols, delineate performance indices, and execute root-cause analyses for multifaceted quandaries.
* Ensure perpetual integration, automated testing, and enhancement of code integrity.
Mentorship & Cultural Enrichment
* Guide engineers and elevate technical discernment across collectives.
* Contribute to the nurturing of GM’s engineering ethos, deeply rooted in innovation, stewardship, and collaborative spirit.
Essential Qualifications
* Ph.D. or M.S. in controls, optimization, robotics, path planning, or an analogous discipline. (B.S. with substantial experiential background will be deemed acceptable.)
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience in motion planning, trajectory optimization, or vehicle control systems.
* Proficient mastery in optimal control algorithms, classical and contemporary control theory, and vehicle dynamics.
* Documented success in the delivery of high-caliber autonomous or robotic software.
* Strong command of C++ and Python within extensive, distributed code repositories.
* Exceptional communication and organizational prowess.
* Profound zeal for self-driving technologies and autonomous mobility.
Preferred / Bonus Skills
* Familiarity with ROS, robotic frameworks, and ADAS/AV systems.
* Background in numerical optimization methodologies.
* Experience in designing safety-critical software architectures
* Leadership experience within high-performance engineering collectives.
Compensation
Salary Range: *$198,900.00 – $304,800.00*
(Actual remuneration is contingent upon experience, locale, and job-related variables.)
