Job Overview
A junior Java Developer is urgently needed to fill a rewarding role in a dynamic technology team remotely on a full-time basis. Other requirements apart from being conversant with spring include sound knowledge and experience in Core and Advanced Java plus familiarity with SQL, modern CI/CD, and DevOps pipelines.
Major responsibilities shall involve the design, development, testing, and maintenance of secure performance-driven scalable enterprise applications working closely with cross-functional product owners, architects, QA engineers as well as DevOps Teams. To work particularly in insurance or financial services domains having hands-on guidewire PolicyCenter(PC) would give the hopeful an upper hand over many others.
Design, development, and maintenance of high-performance backend applications through the use of Core and Advanced Java.
Build and maintain enterprise applications leveraging the Spring components including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and associated modules.
Development as well as consumption of RESTful APIs and back-end services based on best practices in the industry.
Write complex SQL queries optimize them troubleshoot optimization for efficient data access as well as system performance.
Do database tuning and query optimization for big transactional systems.
Make unit testing strategies so code is reliable, maintainable, and has high coverage.
Use mocking frameworks like Mockito and JMock to test complex business logic and service integrations.
Be part of code reviews making sure the standards are followed and best practices are kept.
Work with DevOps teams to set up and run CI/CD pipelines.
Use GitHub Actions and Harness NextGen to set up and run builds, tests, and deploys.
Help with live deployments and give a hand in finding problems during issues or downtimes.
Join Agile/Scrum events like sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and reviews.
Take part in system setup talks and offer tech help to less experienced coders.
Keep making the app better for speed, growth, and safety.
Follow the growing Java technologies, frameworks, and DevOps trends.
Technical Skills Required
Programming & Frameworks
Should possess 6-8 years of hands-on Core Java and Advanced Java experience.
Must have strong command over the Spring Framework.
Experience with microservices-based architectures is required.
Must be well-versed in object-oriented design principles and design patterns.
Database & SQL
Should have strong proficiency in SQL.
Has worked with complex joins, subqueries, stored procedures, and performance-tuned queries͏
Can analyze and optimize database performance͏
Testing & Quality Assurance͏
Has hands-on experience using unit testing frameworks͏
Has strong experience in Mockito and JMock͏
Understands Test Driven Development (TDD) and behavior-driven testing concepts͏
CI/CD & DevOps͏
Has worked with GitHub Actions͏
Knows Harness NextGen.
Deep knowledge of concepts regarding CI/CD and pipelines for automation
Familiarity with systems of version control like Git
