Etl developer job responsibilities Key Responsibilities
- Understand functional and technical design document and collaborate with data designers and architects to plan execute ETL Development activities
- Assist in completing and validating design deliverables, ensuring that all ETL components align with architectural standards and business requirements
- Perform end to end ETL using Informatica DEI/BDM, including creating mapping, work flows, transformation, and reusable components
- Build a robust and maintainable ETL code base, following best practices for scalability, performance, and data quality
- Conduct comprehensive unit testing, capture and document test results, and ensure data accuracy and completeness
- Independently execute testing activates when required and proactively identify potential issues in ETL processes
- Provide strong testing support during systems integration Testing ( SIT ) and user Acceptance testing ( UAT) Phases, including defect triage, root- cause analysis, and timely resolutions of issues
- Prepare detailed production deployment plans, scheduling sheets, and coordinate with stakeholders to obtain required change approvals
- Support production deployments and work closely with infrastructure, DevOps and production support teams to ensure smooth releases
- Provide warranty and post production support, Investigate production ETL issues, perform Impact analysis, and implement fixes within defined SLA’s
- Perform performance tuning and optimization using informatica DEI/ BDM, including query optimization, partitioning strategies, and efficient data processing techniques
Required skills
- Strong hands on experience with informatica DEI / BDM for ETL and big data environments
- Strong proficiency in UNIX / LINUX commands and scripting
- Advanced SQL skills for data analysis, validation, and performance tuning
- Good communication skills with ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non technical teams
- Proven ability to work efficiently in a onshore – Offshore delivery model
Additional preferred skills
- Exposure to Talend and snowflake environment is a strong advantage
