Site Reliability Engineer (Apigee) Management expertise over the Apigee API platform is a core need for this position. Other needs include skills related to operational reliability and automation as well as support across the full lifecycle of APIs. This onsite role demands strong architectural understanding related both to gateways onto cloud infrastructure as well as to topics relating to Observability within DevOps practices
Site Reliability Engineer (Apigee) Oversight, administration, and optimization of the Apigee API platform environment. Guarantee APIs’ wellness, good availability, vigor, and muscle. Perform a diagnosis on API proxies, policies, shared flows, target endpoints as well as routing plus authentication hitches. Carry out automation using Python and Shell or related scripting languages. Merge Apigee deployments with CI/CD pipelines..
Create observability dashboards and alerts using Splunk Stackdriver Prometheus DataDog etc. Support for cloud-hosted environments in GCP preferred AWS or Azure.
– Implement OAuth 2.0, JWT, API Keys, TLS/SSL, and mTLS as part of API security best practices.
– Configure and manage DNS, networking, load balancing, and firewalls.
– Enable container-based deployments with Docker and Kubernetes.
For Site Reliability Engineer (Apigee) Qualifications
– Seven years experience in DevOps/Support Engineering or Site Reliability Engineering.
– Very strong hands-on experience with Apigee (Edge/Hybrid/X).
– Good knowledge of REST APIs, HTTP basics caching, and integration patterns.
Has worked with CI/CD tools, Git-based workflows, and automated deployment processes. Knows about monitoring, logging, and distributed tracing. Has used Terraform or Ansible or any configuration management tools before. Good at solving problems and has experience with production troubleshooting. Having an Apigee cert is a plus.
