We’re Looking for an ETL/Informatica Developer (Contract)

Looking for a new consulting gig, seasoned ETL / Informatica Developer We need a high-level pro to join us in supporting and improving our Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) setup. If you love working where data rules, know how to create strong and scalable ETL pipelines, and can lead on the tech front in healthcare-centered data architecture, this spot could be just right for you.
Works with data architects, business analysts, QA teams, and stakeholders to design and implement efficient data flows that deliver high-quality data integration solutions supporting all enterprise applications. Streamlines data flows improves system reliability delivers high-quality data across the enterprise. This is a remote work opportunity however resources may have to go onsite occasionally to Springfield, IL.
This contract role will take responsibility for full ETL development, environment administration, troubleshooting and performance tuning on a complex multi-database environment together with support for data governance initiatives staff optimization of existing flows ensuring that ETLs are compliant with business and compliance requirements especially within the healthcare and Medicaid/Medicare data ecosystems.
This is a hands-on technical analytical role in a very dynamic environment requiring excellent communications skills together with other relevant strengths.
Principal Duties
ETL Development & Optimization
Create secure ETL pipelines in Informatica PowerCenter. Highly optimized mappings, transformations, and reusable workflows. Automated staging offers enhanced job performance with reduced manual efforts. Identify the bottlenecks in existing ETL jobs and remove them by applying different strategies for tuning performance.
Environment & Repository Administration
– Administer and maintain all Development and Production Informatica environments, stability, and uptime. Control repository backup/versioning, carry out recoveries/ general administration tasks.
– Monitor ETL workload/failures in delivery to the closest possible timeliness of data delivery.
Data Management & Scripting
– Create, test, and tune advanced SQL queries on Teradata, DB2, Oracle, and SQL Server platforms.
Build and keep Unix Shell scripts for automation, scheduling, and making things better. Fix data problems, check job results, and make sure they follow data quality rules.
Work with different groups to turn business needs into technical ETL answers. Help QA during system and integration test times.
Prepare detailed technical documentation that shall encompass the solution design specifications, data flow diagrams as well as user guides.
Offer technical guidance and mentoring support to junior developers and team members.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Should be a person of strong technical depth with a good amount of hands-on experience: 7+ years in Informatica PowerCenter and ETL development 5+ years in advanced SQL programming and performance tuning.
5 years working with relational databases like Teradata, DB2, Oracle, or SQL Server. 5 years doing PowerCenter admin stuff, including taking care of repositories and environments. Good at thinking analytically, solving problems, and communicating. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering or something similar.
Has worked with Data Warehousing, dimensional modeling, and ERWIN. Has done Unix Shell scripting for over 2 years. Has seen Azure Data Factory, Snowflake or any of the modern cloud data integration tools being used. Knows Python, R or JavaScript for small automation or analytics. Has used Informatica Data Quality (IDQ), Address Doctor or Metadata Manager before. Has seen Healthcare, Medicaid or Medicare data structures before.
– Background in Agile and Scrum settings.
– Applicants who stay close to Springfield, IL will be given priority.
– US Citizen or Green Card holder most favored because of project needs.
